Charles Edward Barker

Barker, Charles Sr., age 86, of Monroe, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017 at his residence. He was born September 27, 1931 in Hamilton, OH to Frederick and Edna (Binkley) Barker. He served our country in the US Army during the Korean War with an honorable discharge. He was a clerk at the Middletown Post Office for 33 years, retiring in 1992. Charles was a Boy Scout leader, earning a Silver Beaver badge, the highest ranking for an adult. Charles is survived by his children; daughter, Amber Leigh Tendam, her daughter, Morgan Leigh Tendam, son, Charles E. (Debbie) Barker Jr, his children, Charlie Barker, Meghan Waldron, Caitie Barker, son, David (Lee) Barker, his children, Desirae Clayton, Diedrea Vizedom, David Barker II; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Barker and family. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis Barker and 10 siblings. Visitation will be held Friday, October 20, 2017 from 12:00-2:00 pm at Baker-Stevens- Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, Ohio 45005. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 pm with Elder Floyd Rockwell officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with Middletown Combined Honor Guard Services.
