Lay, William “Bill” “Red Dog”, age 66, of Middletown, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Hospice of Butler and Warren County. He was born May 19, 1951 to Thomas and Betty (Lawson) Lay. He worked in maintenance for Armco - A/ K Steel Company for 30 years, retiring in 1999. William was baptized at St. John Church – Holy Family Parish. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish, boat and camp. William is survived by his wife, Wanda (Allen) Lay; mother, Betty (Robert) Graft of Middletown; children, Trisha (Katie Shannon) Lay of Maryland, Brett (Mandy) Lay of Cleves; grandchildren, Eleanor and Lawson; sisters, Linda (Jim) McDowell of Middletown, Ann (Lee) Lay of Middletown; brother, Jim (Carla) Lay of Eaton. He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas E. Lay; brothers, Thomas Lay Jr., Douglas Lay. A Receiving of Friends will be held Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 12:00-1:00 pm at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 1500 Manchester Avenue, Middletown, OH 45042. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
