Donald E. Hamilton

Hamilton, Donald E., age 92, of Middletown, passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 at Atrium Medical Center. He was born August 3, 1926 in Middletown, OH to Earl and Altha (Barnhart) Hamilton Sr. He served our country during WWII in the US Army as a Paratrooper with the 11Th Airborne Division with an honorable discharge. Don worked for Armco Steel Corporation for 45 years, retiring from the Rigger Department in 1989. He was devoted to his family, loved life and never met a stranger. Donald was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post # 3809; Eagles Lodge #528; American Legion Post #218. He bowled for over 50 years and was a Boy Scout Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop #979 since 1990. He also enjoyed dancing with Louise, playing cards and was an avid John Wayne fan. Donald is survived by his children, Rodney (Barb) Hamilton, Larry (Robin Harris) Hamilton, David (Beverly) Hamilton, Tim (Connie) Hamilton, Paula (Jamie) Pierce; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Catherine Louise Hamilton; son, Donald L. Hamilton; brothers, Earl and Roland Hamilton, Richard and James DeMory; sister, Elsie Hageman. Visitation will be held Monday, December 10, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, OH 45005. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Manley officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military services by local Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to Middletown Combined Honor Guard, 116 South Main Street, Middletown, OH 45044.
