Harold Leonard Parker

Harold Leonard Parker of Xenia, Ohio left this world peacefully at his home on November 23, 2022 at 8:48 a.m. Harold was born on October 14, 1943 in Chillicothe, Ohio to Ralph and Wyomea Parker. He worked at Eshelman's Mill for 28 years and was a member of New Holland Fire Dept. and served as Chief. Harold was a devoted, loving husband to his wife, Mabel Corene, to whom he spent 60 glorious years. Harold was a simple, down to earth man and devoted his life to his children and family. He worked very hard so they had all they needed to succeed in life. He loved to fish and collected and refurbished lawn tractors to show at festivals. Harold could tear apart a lawn mower and put it back together while blind folded. He had an obsession with yard sales, stopped at every one he could. When neighbors called, he went to help no matter the issue. Harold is survived by his sons, Randy (Julie) Surgenor, Mike (Connie) Surgenor; daughters, Nell (Ed) Hill, Michelle (Luis) Gallardo; twin brother, Gerald (Carol) Parker; sister Myrtle Funk, along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Corene; father, Ralph and mother, Wyomea; sisters Helen, Edith, Virginia; brothers Bob, Ralph Jr., Paul Jay. He never looked for praises, he was never one to boast. Harold just went on quietly working for the ones he loved the most. His dreams were seldom spoken, his wants were very few and most of the time his words were unspoken too. A true friend we could turn to when times were good or bad, one of our greatest blessings. The man that we called DAD. Goodbyes will be at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 1500 Manchester Ave, Middletown, Ohio on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm. Rev. Mike Hodges will be officiating the service. Interment will be at Miltonville Cemetery, 5825 Howe Rd Trenton, Ohio 45067. After services the family will share a dinner in celebration of Harold’s life at Bowersville Fellowship Hall, 3138 Maysville Street, Bowersville, Ohio 45307.
