Laura Owens

Owens, Laura, 69 of Middletown passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at UC Medical Center in Cincinnati. She was born on April 7, 1951 in Jackson, KY to Berry & Doris Jean (Gilespie) Barrett Sr. Laura worked as a nurse’s aide for Barbara Park N. H. and as a hostess for Frisch’s. She is survived by her daughters, Angela (Robert) Hammond and Carrie (Tom) Miller both of Middletown; her sons, Lester (Nicole)Vernon Owens III and Lonnie Jay Owens both of Middletown; her 6 Grandchildren, Ashley Owens, Robert Fisher III, Hillary Hammond, Robert Hammond Jr, Lydia Owens, and Damien Howard; 3 Great-Grandchildren, Ryker Jones, Rose Zarecky and Andrew Zarecky; Brother, Berry (Marlene)Barrett Jr of Middletown and sisters, Bonnie (Ted)Pitts, Hilda (Joe) Jarvis, Barbara Tayor and Missy (Michael)Whitt all of Middletown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester V. Owens Jr; her parents; sisters, Betty Jean Rose and Brenda Pritchard and her brother, Bernard Barrett. Laura loved to listen to gospel music, shopping, sitting on her front porch, and spending time with her family. She loved being a grandma and great grandma. Visitation will be on Friday, August 7, 2020 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, OH with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 1:00 pm with Rev.
