Monica L. Elkins

Monica Leigh Elkins, 69 of Somerville, Ohio passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021 in her home with her loved ones by her side. Monica was born May 24, 1952 in Middletown, Ohio to Elbert and Dorothy Moland of Camden. Monica Loved sewing, crocheting, gospel music, cooking, gardening, dancing to oldies music and taking trips with her sisters. Above all else, Monica loved to spend time with her family. Monica was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jonive Moland and brother, David (Priscilla) Moland. Monica is survived by her husband of 51 years, Larry Elkins; son, Larry “Bud” Elkins II; granddaughters, Madison and Ashlyn Elkins all of Somerville; Siblings, Lanna (Danny) Baker of Eaton, Karen Huffman, Kathy (JC) Watkins all of Lawrenceburg, KY; Special friends, Madeline and Bob Began, Tammy and Jason Newman, Cody Newman, Riley Salyers and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 18th 2021 at I Am the Word Ministries near West Elkton at 12248 State Route 503, Middletown, OH 45042 with Jimmy Combs and Sam Budd officiating. Visitation will be prior to the services from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm also at the church. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gratis.
