Perry L. Clarke Jr.
July 12, 1944 ~ November 19, 2023 (age 79) 79 Years Old
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one, Perry Lynne Clarke. He went to be with the Lord on November 18, 2023, at the age of 79; due to an illness. Perry was born on July 12, 1944 in Middletown, Ohio, to his parents Perry Lynn Clarke Sr. and Dorothy Ouida (Gibbs) Clarke. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Perry and Dorothy, brothers, James and Brack Collier, as well as his sisters, Rose Mayne and Marla Melton. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jane L. Clarke, his two sons, Robby L. Clarke, Ronald L. Clarke, daughter, Rochelle L. Hale (Travis), grandchildren, Zach and Caitlin Augspurger, Jake Clarke (Carisa), Robert Clarke; followed by great grandchildren Barrett, Declan, and Cora Augspurger, Blaze and Jett Clarke, as well as many other cousins, nieces and nephews. Perry contributed to the community in many ways. Sports, along with family, was always at the center of his heart. He spent many years coaching and mentoring both football and softball at Lemon Monroe High School. He touched many lives both on and off the field as many refer to him as their "2nd father.” Perry was also very instrumental in the construction of the softball/baseball field at the Monroe Community Park. Perry also assisted in the upgrades to the softball fields at the high school. Perry was very proud of the work he did in the development of the girls’ softball field, but his proudest accomplishment was his ingenuous fund raising events, "The Alumni Football Games,” which supplied new football equipment to the Monroe High School Football Team. He also served many years on the Monroe Life Squad. His training benefitted him on the job and during his coaching years. Perry was also an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene for many years. Perry retired from AK Steel after 40 years of service. Perry spent his later years traveling with his wife and enjoying time spent with his family. He found great pleasure in watching his grandchildren play sports and develop into adults. He was blessed to have such a large circle of friends in the community and at the mill. He will leave behind many friends and family. Please join us in cherishing the memories that were made with him. -- "Hubba Hubba" Perry, your work on earth is done and you will be missed more than words can say. A visitation will be held at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, Ohio on Sunday, November 26th, from 5pm to 8pm.
