Rachel Lacey

Lacey, Rachel Carol, age 77, of Middletown, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Atrium Medical Center. She was born July 21, 1940 in Middletown, OH to Edgar and Zuda (Peck) Miller. She worked in the office for Jefferson Smurfit Paper for 46 years. Rachel was an artist; played spoons and played the bass bucket and was a backup singer. She was called “Queen of the Gutbucket”. Rachel is survived by her husband of 56 years, Damon Lacey; siblings, Edgar Leroy (Lena) Miller, Pearlie (Richard) Kirby, Gerald (Leona) Miller, Norman (Doris Jean) Miller, Ronald (Marilyn) Miller and Karen Miller; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Wilma Hart; brother, John R. Miller. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, OH 45005. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, July 6, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
