Obituary

McGee, Robert Eugene “Pete”, age 86, of Middletown, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Atrium Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born October 31, 1931 in Hamilton, OH to Charles Edward and Goldie Marie (Morrison) McGee. Pete graduated Middletown High School in 1949 where he then went on to serve our country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Pete was very proud of his grandmother, Amanda Morrison, founder of Stratford Heights Church of God in 1915, where he was a lifetime member. He was the Vice President of McGee Supermarket and President of AMA Supermarket for 45 years. He was a Realtor in Ohio, North Carolina, and Florida. Pete was President of Middletown Aviation Club, Vice President of MADE, was a member of Exchange Club, was a Licensed Pilot for 20 years, Licensed Referee of Ohio High School Athletic Association, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, was an avid golfer and was on the Board of Directors for Forrest Hills, Browns Run, and was Member of Pinehurst Country Club. Pete enjoyed hunting in South Dakota. He was on the Middletown Baseball Team from 1948-1949, was involved in the Blue Star Grange 4-H, was a member of the Mason Variety Lodge 257, Antioch Shrine Club and was a Valley of Dayton 32nd degree Mason. Pete is survived by his Wife of 68 years, Betty Jo (Stephens) McGee; daughter, Kathy (Stuart) Locke; son, David (Vickie) McGee; grandchildren, Andrew (Nikole) Locke, Amy (Derek) Baker, Mindy (Peter) Hudson; great-grandchildren, Noah, Logan, Rylan, Derek, Maleigha, Dominick and Audrey; brother, Charles Lee Mcgee. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Judith Ann McGee McCandless. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Stratford Heights Church of God, 4419 Nelson Rd, Middletown, OH 45042. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday March 21, 2018 at 11:00 am at the church with Pastor Ray Phillips officiating. Interment will be at Elk Creek Cemetery.
