Sheri L. Sams

Sheri Lee Sams of Monroe Ohio passed to her eternal reward on May 9, 2018. Sheri was born in Nicholas County, Kentucky on October 29, 1961 to J. Donald Sams and Nancy Hunt Sams.

Sheri was baptized into Christ at First Christian Church in Elizabethton, Tennessee. From her earliest days, she showed a passion for music and love for God.

Sheri earned a Bachelor Of Music from Cincinnati Christian University in 1983 and pursued graduate work at Miami University in Music Theory. She founded Pied Piper School of Music where she impacted more than 3,000 students through music education over the twenty-one year period of its existence.

Sheri was privileged to serve three churches as director of music and worship. She served Lockland Christian Church from 1985 through 1992 and Centerpointe Christian Church 2007 through 2009. Sheri was an integral part of the founding of Axis Christian Church and led worship from 2009 to the day she began to worship in heaven. Part of Sheri’s legacy is the teaching of countless people to worship with joy. She continues to worship God in heaven today.

Sheri was preceded in death by her grandparents Paul and Norma Sams, her grandparents Ben and Irene Hunt and by her beloved father J. Donald Sams. She is survived by her mother Nancy Sams, her brothers J. Mark Sams (Gail), Jonathan Sams (Julia), Stephen Sams (Lisa), and many nieces, nephews, dear friends and her dogs Carli and Gabby.

Visitation will be held at Axis Christian Church, 4503 US 42, Mason, Ohio, Sunday May 13 5-8 pm and celebration service Monday, May 14 at 10am. Internment at Mound Cemetery.
