Shepherd, Grant, age 92, of Middletown, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Garden Manor Retirement Village. He was born March 12, 1924 in Daley, KY to Dan and Rachel (Day) Shepherd. He served our country in the US Navy during WWII with an honorable discharge. He was a template maker for Aeronca for 36 years, retiring in 1987. Grant was a member of Mayfield Community Church. Grant is survived by his granddaughter, Danielle (William Bulman) Stapleton; brother, Gillis (Viola) Shepherd of Monroe; sisters, Patsy Campbell of West Chester, Louise (Boyd) Gillman of Middletown, Jackie (Wendell) Reece of Middletown; great-grandson, Isaacs J. Adams; son-in-law, Russell Bachman; sister-in-law, Louise Young and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Juanita Shepherd; daughter, Karen Bachman; sister, Ivory Wooten. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 11:00-1:00 pm at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Jerry Minor officiating. Interment will be at North Monroe Cemetery with Middletown Combined Honor Guard Services.
